Primer of Sectional Anatomy With Mri and Ct Correlation
Published in Paperback by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins (December, 1994)
Authors: Charles P. Barrett, Larry D. Anderson, Steven J. Poliakoff, and Lawrence Anderson
Average review score:

Great book!
This atlas is perfect for medical students in just about any year. It is great for students taking anatomy because it shows cross sections that help you understand where structures are as they move through the body.

Fantastic correlation between the gross cross sections and then the MRI or CT scan on the same pages for easy comparision back and forth. The labels are very clear and easy to read. Great book to use for studying for exams!

I would recommend this book for any student taking gross anatomy or radiology. Also great for students just to quickly refresh radiology skills in any rotation.

Principles of Accounting
Published in Textbook Binding by Silver Burdett Pr (January, 1900)
Author: J.W. Anderson
Average review score:

Great intro to accounting
I liked reading this book for my accounting 101 class. The text is clear, well organized and well written. The typography makes liberal use of color, which makes reading _much_ easier when compared to a monochrome textbook. There are copious examples, illustrations and exercises. The book comes with a workbook (purchased separately) which contains template pages to write in your answers (trust me, you will need it). All chapters are grounded in current reality -- the authors make a point of tying the concepts to real-life situations.

On the cons, the 2002 edition deals with 2000 data -- their production process needs to be speeded up.

I think that a thorough review of this text will give the reader an excellent start in basic accounting.

Princples of Accounting/Principles of Accounting: Study Guide

Authors: Belverd E. Needles, Marian Powers, Sherry K. Mills, and Henry R. Anderson

Business/Accounting students
This is an excellent resource. The summary at the beginning of each chapter is simple to understand. The sample test will give you lots of practice. The exams I had were similar to the ones in this book. And the crossword puzzels at the end of each lesson made studying fun. I highly recommend this book as part of your study curriculm. No accounting student should study with out it.

Prodigious Birds : Moas and Moa-Hunting in New Zealand
Published in Hardcover by Cambridge University Press (December, 1990)
Author: Atholl Anderson
Average review score:

Comprehensive overview of the Moa
This volume is one that has been extensively researched and must rate as one of the best works on the Moa. Most species are covered and there is a lot of detail on distribution plus a variety of photographic and sketch representations of remains ie; bones, mummified 'bits and pieces' and egg shards. A lot of very detailed analysis of archaeological digs, as well as accounts from Maori records adds a lot of credibility to this excellent scientific report.

Promising Again (Family Living in Pastoral Perspective, No 4)
Published in Paperback by Westminster John Knox Press (February, 1996)
Authors: Herbert Anderson, David Hogue, and Marie McCarthy
Average review score:

Buy the Whole Series
I own Anderson's entire Family Living in Pastoral Perspective series (Leaving Home, Becoming Married, Regarding Children, Promising Again, and Living Alone), and I refer to them frequently.

Each book focuses on a different transitional event and the family tasks that event brings into focus. Anderson and his co-authors deal sensitively with the pastoral issues involved.

Promising Again views marriage as a "pilgrimage of promising." The authors explore the nature of marital promises and the transformations these promises undergo as marriages transform. Issues of the emptying nest, a floundering marriage, and remarriage receive a full chapter each. Other issues covered include: the impact of natural disasters, death, infertility, serious/chronic illness, social/economic stresses, and personal psychological/spiritual changes.

All of the books are well-written and easy to read--no convoluted prose to parse here. The works have added texture from the many personal examples shared by the authors (both their own and examples others have shared with them).

Every book in the series deserves an honored place on any religious professional's shelf. Except, you may find them so valuable they rarely make it back to your shelf.

Public Radio Legal Handbook: A Guide to Ffc Rules and Regulations/With Political Primer 1984

Authors: Thomas Thomas, Clifford Thomas, Theresa R. Clifford, Randy Thom, and Kathy E. Anderson

Turn Your Radio Station On
This handbook speaks directly to public broadcasters. It's edge-of-your-seat, can't-put-it-down reading, and a solid guide to what you need to know about running a public radio station.

Station managers who need an overview of the unseen aspects of running a radio station can find a wealth of information in the publication.

A station operations checklist covers the paperwork, technical and general operating requirements. There's a section devoted to regular filings and reports that every station manager needs to know about. Rules about fundraising, underwriting and promotion addressing the revenue-generating side of public radio include case studies and examples of the do's and don'ts. Real life savers! Programming regulations concerning editorials, obscenity issues and emergency broadcasts are covered as well.

It's a reference booked that I've dogged-eared from use almost weekly for the past six years. It has saved me countless hours in research and consultations - and legal expenses.

Dealing with the FCC? It's in the book. Libel law - it's covered. Lotteries, contests and local service information to keep you out of hot water and on the air!

If you're going to go on the air, turn your radio station on with this handbook.

Average review score:

Great Puzzle Book
This was a terrific and tricky puzzle book that took you back in time to ancient Egypt with Thoth, god of wisdom and writing, and Mrs. Pudget's class (and also the sinister Mr. Gluddery!). The object is to attend the Pharaoh's birthday party and return home safely, all while learning fun facts about Egypt in the process. Fabulous! :-) '-)
